While not a major Lake District climb, from the west this is a particularly nasty short climb, you are pretty much straight into it from the off and clipping in quickly if stopped by traffic can require some skill. With an average gradient of 11%, maxing out around 22% two thirds of the way up, it is one for the fit cyclist.
