The chapel dedicated to Saint Mary in the Snow was built at the end of the rocky spur in the late 17th century. The fighting stone of the entrance portal shows 1658 as the year it was built. The single-nave building with a three-sided choir was built from rubble stones. A roof turret crowns the gable roof above the portal. Inside, in a niche, there is a figure of Mary Immaculata, a donation from 1900 that replaced the old portrait of the Virgin Mary. Otherwise, two old offering boxes and a rustic ceiling chandelier catch the eye. A wayside shrine next to the entrance bears the coat of arms of Rüdiger Stephan Freiherr von Neuhoff-Ley, the abbot of the nearby Kornelimünster Imperial Abbey at the time.

The hermitage was added as a single-axis extension to the northern side of the chapel. It was inhabited continuously from 1658 to 1900. The current tenants serve drinks on the terrace when the weather is good, which is why the actual hermitage (living wing) cannot be visited.

At the small chapel at the top of the mountain you can sit comfortably outside with a cup of coffee or tea and, if necessary, eat ice cream.
