Historical significance: Mission DUSSELDORF
In Wesseling, Germany, near Cologne, there were factories and installations for the production of synthetic fuels.
This industry became the target of the mission in which Lancaster I, ME846 'PG-C', was part during the short night of June 21-22, 1944. A total of 133 Lancaster bombers and six Mosquitoes participated. It was a difficult mission, deep in enemy territory.
