The eight boulders symbolize the eight villages of the Eight Beatitudes: Eersel, Duizel (formerly Duijsel), Hulsel, Knegsel, Netersel, Reusel, Steensel, and Wintelre (Wintersel). The natural stones are precisely sized and aligned with the compass point, so that they represent the villages as accurately as possible.
Each village has been assigned its own Beatitude, just as Jesus of Nazareth also speaks in the Sermon on the Mount about eight Beatitudes or Beatitudes for salvation. Nowadays, we describe the term "blessed" as the Bible intends it more as "happy."

The stones of the 'Selligheden' are in the same place (to scale) as the eight 'Sel villages' from the Kempen. Each village has its own unique description.
