In the village of Oettern, the river is crossed over a three-arched stone bridge built in 1856. The left and right arches each rest on an abutment and a pillar. The middle arch, resting on the two pillars, spans part of the island surrounded by the Ilm and a side arm.

The bridge is 40.8 m long and 4.50 m wide. The road is bordered by two strong stone walls. Due to the severely restricted lane, oncoming traffic cannot cross the bridge.
