At 1,830 meters, the Mintarder Ruhr Viaduct (also known as the Mintarder Bridge) is the longest steel road bridge in Germany. (...)
On July 11, 2019, the state road construction company in North Rhine-Westphalia announced that the Ruhr Viaduct was to be demolished and completely rebuilt. For the new construction, the first part of the new bridge will be placed next to the old one. Then the old one will be dismantled or blown up, and then the second part of the new bridge will be built in the same place. The bridge will have four lanes during the entire construction period and six lanes after completion. Construction is expected to start in 2024. The construction project is expected to cost 233 million euros. (Source Wikipedia)
