At the end of 2016, Ketelwald BV became the owner of more than 10 hectares of former agricultural land on the Steeuwichtweg in Uden. The aim is to develop wet sparse grasslands here. The plots are located in the so-called wet natural pearl Wijstgrond Uden. Point is iron-rich groundwater that rises as a result of the Peelrand fracture. The Annabos is one of the few places where this phenomenon still surfaces and has not been plowed away or drained. In cooperation with the water board, the province strives to preserve and develop the existing wet nature. The nutrient-rich topsoil was removed from the purchased plots at the beginning of 2018; then clippings from reference areas (flower-rich grasslands and wet sparse grassland) were applied. In the course of 2018, another plot was acquired, bringing the total to over 11.5 ha. This plot is also laid out as wet lean grassland.
