Until 1991, the Silver Tower with its silver aluminium façade was the highest building in Germany. However, even today the building still represents something unusual in architectural terms. Consisting of four individual structures, it is the only building in Frankfurt with “round edges”. The electrical facilities also run beneath the floor, while the air conditioning is installed above the suspended ceilings. Hence it is not surprising that the floors are still 4.20 metres high.

The Silver Tower is a roughly 166-meter-tall office tower in Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel district, built between 1972 and 1978. With its distinctive aluminum facade and rounded corners, it was for a long time the tallest building in Germany and originally served as the headquarters of Dresdner Bank. Today, after renovations, the tower is used as an office building.
