One of the most beautiful historical monuments in the city and only accessible via a guided tour by appointment. It was built under the reign of Louis XIII in the 17th century. The facade of the town hall is lavishly decorated with baroque ornaments, golden stucco and garlands. After a fire in 1674, the building was restored.

The Town Hall (Hôtel de ville) of Lyon is one of the most impressive historical buildings in the city and is located between Place Terreaux and Place de la comédie, opposite the Opera. It has been a Monuments historiques since July 12, 1886.[1]
