The Heiketalwarte is a medieval waiting tower and is located on the eastern edge of the unified municipality of Osterwieck between Dardesheim and Athenstedt. In contrast to most of the other medieval lookout points in the region, the Heiketal lookout point was saved from decay. In 2003, an architecture student from Hamburg discovered this lookout point while hiking. Because of his good concept, the municipality of Zilly leased the tower to him. In the meantime, the restoration of the control room has made enormous progress. All fixtures are available again, you can climb up to the viewing platform at a height of 13.5 m. And enjoy the impressive view over the northern Harz foreland.
