After the local lifting of a large sacrificial stone from the megalithic culture, Father Matthäus Bergmann created the Werpeloher stone circle with the help of further large stones from the megalithic culture. The object is to point out the importance of stone circles for early cultures in astronomical, calendar, legal and religious significance. In doing so, the priest combined the original meaning of the stone circle with Christian elements, as has been customary in the Church since the Christianization of Europe.

The stone circle was built in 2002 by the then pastor of the place.

Stone circle on the small ridge of the "Hoogen Klinken". The five-ton center stone is reminiscent of an altar or sacrificial stone. It is surrounded by two stone circles, each with twelve boulders. They can be viewed in many ways as astronomical, calendrical or cultic elements.
