Guajara - the world's first observatory in the high mountains:
At the top of Guajara you can find old stone walls. These are the remains of the world's first high mountain observatory. The first stone walls were built on this site by the Italian Sir Charles Piazzi Smyth in 1856. The astronomer conducted research not only in Egypt, but also in Tenerife. In the summer of 1856 he made his star observations on the summit of Guama.
