It contains an impressive, richly decorated baroque carving by Johannes Hopf from 1689.

The Posterstein Church, a late Gothic building, was built by the Posterstein lords and has been a branch church of Nöbdenitz since the 16th century. The extremely rich interior decoration with baroque wood carvings became famous: the altar, pulpit and gallery are decorated with plant ornaments and Christian symbols and are masterfully crafted. The local “Saga of Johannis Hopf” revolves around the lime wood carving, inspired by a small plaque under the gallery, which is the only reference to the artist. It says: “Johannis Hopf, 1689”.
