The Moor Fountain at Schöntal Monastery dates from 1787. It depicts a gilded Moor on a column above an octagonal fountain basin with coats of arms and reliefs—a play on Abbot Maurus Schreiner. A Baroque work of art with symbolic depth.

The Moor fountain is located on the open space between the New Abbey, the Old Abbey and the outbuildings. It was built in 1787 under the last Schöntal abbot, Maurus Schreiner (1784–1802). The entire fountain is a play on the abbot's first name, so some areas of the fountain trough are decorated with Moor scenes, and on top of the central fountain column sits a graceful Moor with crown-like decorations and similar decorations on his arms and legs. All depictions of the coat of arms are dated 1787.

The Moor's fountain from 1787 shines in the monastery courtyard in front of the new abbey. The octagonal fountain basin was screwed together from cast iron plates. In the middle stands a simple column. On the Doric capital sits a Moor with crossed legs and gilded feather decorations around his hips, upper arms and ankles.
