From here you have a beautiful view of the well-kept castle garden. However, as it is currently very green, it is not possible to see the castle from this spot.

The castle was built on the site of an older castle from 1769 under the direction of the Prague architect Paul Wiedhopf, possibly according to the designs of his compatriot Johann Joseph Wirch and is surrounded by a large park. The Assumstadt church, demolished in 1799, was located on the free space in front of the castle. The castle was a gift from the Austrian Empress Maria Theresia to her former Field Warrant Officer Karl Reinhard von Ellrichshausen, whose family had ruled Assumstadt since 1667. Doors, stoves, windows and floors are partly copies from Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. The copies were made in Prague. The castle was sold by Elrichhausen's descendants in 1937 to Hubert Graf zu Waldburg-Wolfegg, whose family still owns the property today.
