    March 22, 2022

For Ritterstein fans: Here we are dealing with a special feature among the more than 300 Rittersteins, because for Ritterstein number 51 there are TWO stones:
    1. a small, gray sandstone boulder to the left behind the seating area and
    2. the reddish rock face directly on the hiking trail that leads up to the Kirschfelsen.
BOTH stones bear the inscription "Am Zwiesel", but this is hardly (anymore) legible on the small sandstone boulder (as of March 2022).

"The Ritterstein is located at the confluence of [the two streams] Kaltenbach and Wellbach. Hence the name Zwiesel, which is derived from 'two' (Eitelmann, p. 51). The two bodies of water ultimately flow into the Queich." Source (quoted verbatim):

The Ritterstein 51 is located at the confluence of the Kaltenbach and Wellbach.
In addition to a large hiking car park with a hiking map, there is now a wood storage area owned by the city of Annweiler.
From here you can also make a tough ascent (almost 300 meters in altitude) to the cherry rock.

PWV-Rittertein No. 51, Zwiesel, is right next to the hiking car park. Zwiesel comes from Zwi, meaning two. Here is the union of two streams, the Kaltenbach and the Wellbach.
