The current stone corn mill was built in 1776 as a successor to a wooden standard mill. In 1952 the mill was dismantled into a stone mill hull and continued to be used as a grain mill. The last miller was Gerrit van Waasbergen. In 1997 there were municipal actions for monument status and followed purchase by project developer. In 1998, the province issued a positive recommendation for monument status. The municipality (new council/college) suddenly wants to have an office building built with the project developer with the mill hull as an elevator shaft! Despite negative advice on this matter from the National Office and the municipal Monuments Commission, B&W still grant a permit for possible changes. monument (14/9), no procedure has yet been started for the building permit for the office. In 1999, the committee "Preservation of Mill Windlust" purchased the mill and the State Secretary designated the mill stump as a national monument. In that year, the Foundation Molen Kortenoord was also founded and actions for restoration started. In 2002, the actual restoration to a complete windmill could be started. On Friday, May 20, 2005, the grinding mill was festively put into use. The mill produces flour for the bakery of Dagcentrum Korenaer, located in the outbuildings of the mill. Products from this bakery and flour from the mill are for sale in the Korenaer tearoom and in the mill shop. Tearoom Korenaer is open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In 2007 and 2008, the project was completed with a jetty, a car park for motor vehicles and a bicycle shed.
