Entrance of a beautiful path around a piece of inaccessible but also very nice to see heath, fen and sand area with many conifers around it. You can see it as a small loop or combine it. There is also a small parking lot nearby. The path around the shielded piece of fen and heath is sometimes made of sand and then again of forest soil and wood pieces, such as on Finnish slopes.

Hiking

The original flat heathland in Limburg changed radically in relief when coal mining started. The coal that was brought to the surface had to be separated from the unusable stones. To do this, the coal was 'washed' and the waste was piled up. This is how the mine slag heaps came into being. Today, the slag heap and its surroundings have been transformed into a nature reserve with a variety of flora and fauna.
