The Eifel water pipe - also known as the Roman canal or Roman water pipe to Cologne - was one of the longest aqueducts of the Roman Empire and is considered the longest aqueduct north of the Alps. The system supplied the Roman city of Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium, ancient Cologne, with water for public fountains, thermal baths and private house connections.

The picture shows a remnant of the former Roman aqueduct via which the CCAA (Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium) was supplied with fresh water from the Eifel. When the line was in operation, this part of the tube was in the ground.
