Panagia Stazousa is a medieval monastery built by the Franks in the 14th century in Gothic style. Initially occupied by Latin monastic orders, it was then abandoned with the Turkish occupation and destroyed by repeated fires.
Today the monastery is a member of Stavrovouni and is looked after by a monk. In recent years, the church and part of the cell complex have been restored.
