The so-called Schelfenhaus is a richly decorated, baroque city palace in the old town of Volkach. The house got its name from its builder, the wine merchant and mayor Johann Georg Adam Schelf. The current building was constructed between 1719 and 1721. Although the master builder of the Schelfenhaus is not known, the influences of master builder Joseph Greissing are recognizable. Initially used as a residential house and expanded several times, the Schelfenhaus was transferred to the city of Volkach in 1950, which housed several public institutions here.

The Schelfenhaus in Volkach was built between 1719 and 1720 as a baroque city palace by the councilor Georg Schelf. It is very nice to see and is used with senen 3 halls as an event and conference venue. There are also guided tours and wine tasting.
