The Bergfeld fortified church is, according to expert opinion, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved fortified churches in our country. The mighty walls surrounding the church are doubled on the south side with an intermediate kennel.
The fortifications date back to the early 16th century. In the portal at the main entrance we find the year MDLXXI (ie 1571)The current church was built between 1513 and 1517. The name Remigiuskirche comes from a Franconian settlement around the year 600 on Bergfelder district, which had consecrated her former church to her national saint Remigius.
