Götz Löpelmann calls his bronze sculpture in the Bergedorf castle garden Albis and uses the Latin name to allude to the Elbe, on the banks of which the work was originally intended to be installed. The artist may have had an allegorical representation of the river in mind, as the sculpture shows a stylized woman. She sits on the floor with her legs slightly bent while lifting her upper body and both arms off the floor. It is not a relaxed and comfortable posture, so it looks more like the moment of change of state that the artist captured. This flowing, evolving movement could be seen as a symbol of flowing water and the constant change that comes with it. Even as a pure representation of the body without any symbolic reference, the sculpture arouses interest because the changing diagonals and a slight rotation within the body make the image appear exciting and dynamic. While the right foot is placed slightly in front of the left, the left arm points further back than the right. The upper body is turned slightly to the left, the head to the right. The calm symmetry of the body is eliminated in favor of a lively balance.
