According to the information panel: In Stauchitz, the striking and landmark building still commemorates a historic post station on one of Saxony's most important postal routes. This station existed from 1726 to 1816 as a testament to Saxony's transport and postal history. From 1821, the building served for 175 years as an inn and, at times, also as lodging. The building has been a listed historical monument since the GDR era.
