Old Castle (Town Hall):

Built in 1667 under Count Johann V by the Vorarlberg master builder Michael Kuen. 1904 conversion to the town hall.

After almost all the houses in the town and the castle were destroyed in the 30-year war - the then Count Hugo took refuge with his family in the house at Montfortstrasse 37 after his return - his son Count Johann V built the simple castle in 1667 . Master builder was Michael Kuen from Vorarlberg. After the construction of the New Castle, the Old Castle served as a residence and office for the chief forester, as well as a storage hall for the tithes and a drying hall for hops.

In 1903, the city of Tettnang bought the old castle for 35,000 marks and converted it into the town hall in 1904/05. ....
