    Description

The picturesque St. Anthony's Chapel stands on the "Bergle", a moraine hill typical of Lake Constance. It was first mentioned in 1492 and originally served as a hermitage for hermits, which is why it was dedicated to St. Anthony. One of the most valuable possessions is a Gothic Madonna.

A hike or bike ride there is definitely worth it: in spring, you will walk through a fragrant, white sea of flowers on the way there; during harvest time in autumn, through the bulging orchards. Although the chapel is not open to the public, you can take a look inside the chapel through a church window.

From this magnificent vantage point, you can enjoy wonderful views of the hilly landscape, the numerous orchards, vineyards and across Lake Constance to the beautiful mountain backdrop - this place truly deserves to be a REAL LAKE CONSTANCE selfie point.

A special feature of the St. Anthony Chapel is the tradition of bringing brooms as a votive offering. The broom is a symbol of purification and with this votive offering, Saint Anthony is asked to intercede with God so that illnesses are swept out of the body.
