The castle is still inhabited and not easily accessible to the public.
In the village there is still the former forestry office building and a former Revierförsterei the Thüngen.
Comparable with the "Free Imperial Cities", such as Schweinfurt, the Thüngensche Zent is from 1422 a "Reichsfreies" area (until 1803).
