The narrow trail leads along a unique river landscape (the Sippach flows into the Feuerbach here) with primeval rock formations. It is said that millions of years ago, the valley with its extraordinary flora was home to animals that are now extinct.

The primeval rock formation is likely to be the Middle Buntsandstein, i.e. almost 250 million years old. However, at that time there was a relatively dry desert climate, which speaks for a species-poor fauna (i.e. not that many dinosaurs).
