Gerhard Halepaghe (* 1420 in Buxtehude; † April 1485) was a wealthy priest in Buxtehude, who founded a foundation a few months before his death in 1485, which still yields profits today: every year, for example, funds are donated to needy families in the
poured out city. The monastery and church reformer is also depicted on the Passion altar named after him in St. Peter's Church (left wing, outside, as an adorant at the feet of the Apostle Paul). Fritz Fleer (1921-1997) probably created the fountain figure based on historical copper engravings.
