  • Since August 2017, a 1:3 scale Hanseatic cog made of Corten steel has stood on the area of the roundabout on Estebrügger Straße. It is almost eight meters long and has a mast about six meters high. The cog bears the nine coats of arms of the town and the coat of arms of Buxtehude on the ship's side. The sail is pierced with both the Hanseatic Cross and the logo of the Hanseatic city. The cog combines the Hanseatic tradition with the modernity of the city.
