Von Wollank Family Mausoleum in Groß Glienicke

Otto Wollank acquired the Groß Glienicke manor in 1890. At that time it was around 1,000 hectares in size and extended around the Groß Glienicker See and on the site of today's Gatow Airport. The estate was managed using new agricultural methods and was soon described as a model agricultural estate. Wollank also founded social institutions such as a school and a kindergarten, which were ultimately decisive for his elevation to the nobility. From 1913 he could therefore call himself von Wollank.

The estate later ran into economic difficulties and a lot of land had to be leased out. These included riverside plots for rich Berliners and later also the grounds of Gatow Airport. In 1929, Otto von Wollank and his wife died in a car accident.
