On the Albert tower, the monolith is embedded in the Royal Saxon Triangulation. This station on the Collm was used as the first-order station No. 18 for land surveying and had a central position in the triangle network of Saxony. With good visibility, the stations were ranked 1st order on the Fichtelberg, Röden in Thuringia, Kahleberg in the Eastern Ore Mountains and Keulenberg southwest of Kamenz. Further stations of the first order which can be seen from the Collm are the stations Hohburg, Strauch, Weida, Großdobritz, Baeyerhöhe, Udohöhe, Pfaffenberg, Rochlitz and Leipzig. But that also means that you can see the Collm in the north of Saxony from these heights.
From the Collm the 2nd order stations Nos. 103 to 107 were also targeted.
The beautiful view from the tower invite hikers and cyclists to climb this hill. Well-kept benches invite you to rest.

Departure starts behind the refuge. For experienced drivers, with jumps. See the route beforehand.

Imposing tower, which unfortunately was not accessible for our visit today. For previous visits we enjoyed a beautiful view from above to the Ore Mountains 👍

Great downhill trail. When wet, unfortunately, morass-like pools form between the jumps. It is best to test the route beforehand and then tackle an uphill again to enjoy the trail.
