At low tide Lundy Bay is a glorious expanse of golden sand and rock pools. It is secluded and quiet. A world away from Polzeath which is just across the headland. The lack of facilities and footpath only access means it is a tranquil place to enjoy the blue waters of Cornwall.

The Bay takes its name from the view of Lundy Island off to the north north east. The small island to the north west is The Mouls, just off Rumps Point. Lundy is the old Norse word for Puffin.

At high tide only a small area of rock is left uncovered by the sea so if you want to enjoy the beach in its full glory please check the tide times before you travel cornwall-beaches.co.uk/north-cornwall/lundy-bay-weather.htm
