The old town hall in Elmshausen was built in 1777. It is the successor to an old school and shepherd's house that was set back and had become dilapidated. It served as the town hall of Elmshausen until 1971. Until a few years ago, consultation hours of the community were held there on fixed dates. In the 1980s and 1990s, the Elmshausen post office was housed on the ground floor. currently the Kerwejugend and the Beautification Association use the upper floor.
The renovation of the building is planned in the village development concept for village renewal in Elmshausen.
