Embedded in the northern foothills of the Harz Mountains is about one kilometer southwest of the old town of Blankenburg, the Silberhüttenteich. Its dam is about five meters high and about 50 meters long. The pond measures about 40 meters in length behind this dam and has a maximum width of about 50 meters. The artificial waters are surrounded by a dense mixed forest.
The silver hut pond is very popular with anglers. On the bank several benches invite for a little break. You can reach this picturesque water on walking trails from Blankenburg, Cattenstedt or Hüttenrode in a short time on foot.
