"The approximately 28-hectare nature reserve is located in a former high-flow channel of the Rhine. It includes parts of the Schwafheimer Meer, an oxbow lake through which the Schwafheimer Bruchkendel flows. The body of water, surrounded by a dense reed belt, is the habitat of many waterfowl, reed dwellers and amphibians.
For understanding:
There are only three other noteworthy reed/reed areas in the entire district of Wesel:
Bislicher Insel, Orsoyer Rheinbogen and Bislich Vanum."
