In the oldest document from 1344, "Sweder von Vrimmersheim" is mentioned as a tenant. In another document from 1351, Sweder confirmed that the manor was both a fief of the Klever and an open house for them.
The next documented owner was Bernt von Sleswig in 1399, since the gentlemen of Friemersheim had in the meantime pledged the property to the Counts of Moers and the "Magnificence Friemersheim" now belonged to the county of Moers.

A handsome former manor and moated castle, the oldest parts of which date from the 14th century - a rewarding, short detour from the Grafschafter cycle and hiking trail. For further information see: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Lauersfort
