The town of Alsleben, with its approximately 2,500 inhabitants, is currently governed by Mayor Alexander Siersleben of the CDU from this historic town hall in the town centre. The building, constructed in 1880, is a fine example of North German brick Gothic architecture. It was built on the site of previous buildings from 1548 and 1699. The coat of arms stone of the first town hall from the 16th century can still be seen in the wall inside.
