In 1816, Amschel Mayer bought a property from Rothschild on Bockenheimer Landstrasse, on the outskirts of Frankfurt, and built a kitchen garden with a summer house. In 1832 he had the classic Rothschild Palace built, and an English landscape park was created. In 1938 the Rothschild family was forced to sell the palace and the park far below their value. During the Second World War, bombs destroyed the palace and large parts of the complex.
After thorough renovation, the face of the park has changed. It now covers around 4.5 hectares again. Winding paths always offer new views.

It's a well-kept park, just a few steps behind the Old Opera House; it's an oasis. Here you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of the shopping streets.
