For more than 600 years, the "Roman" has been the city hall of the city of Frankfurt. The name "House of the Romans" originally bore only the middle of the three buildings in the building complex, which has become a landmark of the city with its characteristic staircase gable facades. The Romans and the Schwanenhalle, the Limpurg and Kaisersaal in the interior, the Roman balcony and the entire square of the Römerberg are simply called "Gudd Stubb" by the Frankfurters.
