Hiking

The Rothzechner Triebeschacht was sunk from 1793 and from 1794 it was the main extraction shaft of the "Rothe-Zeche-Fundgrube trade union". In 1817, the tonnage shaft with an inclination of 62° reached a final depth of 123 m. Between 1794 and 1832, a horse-drawn gully was on the shaft to transport the ore buckets. The Göpel was operated either with three horses or with two horses and two oxen. These required about 10 minutes to convey an ore bucket filled with 15-20 centners (equivalent to 770-1,020 kg). Mining at Rothen Zeche ceased in 1866.
