The Asfendou Gorge is the parallel to the Φαράγγι Καλλικράτη and, like it, connects a summer village located at about 700 m with 2-3 villages of the coastal plain, where the inhabitants spent the winter (Kolokasia, Nomikianá, Vuvás). Until road connections were built in the 1970s, there was heavy traffic here all year round.
