While the "Steile Straße" leads past the houses of the 1st construction phase in a space-optimized width from the bridgehead, it suddenly widens to a spacious open space, the "Kleiner Markt". Already in the first years after the development as a place of communication (modeled on an Italian piazza), the residents and guests accepted the meeting place well. The public went there when Kaiser Wilhelm II visited the settlement in August 1912 or when the Hans Sachs plays were performed there in 1913.
