In 1640, King Christian IV. Bailiff Rantzau gave the Steinburg to demolish and build a house in Glückstadt. 1641-43 construction of the palace. In 1736 the heiress gave the state the Space for the construction of a kennel and madhouse. 1875 The prisoners are moved to Rendsburg, the house is used as a prison until 1927, today it is used as a residence.
