The Rheinauhafen used to be one of Cologne's ports until it became too small for the ever larger ships. The Rheinauhafen was then upgraded and converted into a new Veedel. Of course, the modern crane houses, in which exclusive offices and apartments are located, are striking. Lukas Podolski, Cologne's most popular soccer player, is said to have his residence in Cologne in one of the crane houses.
