On the short journey from its source near the Three Shire Stone high up on the Wrynose Pass to its end in Lake Windermere the River Brathay experiences more than its fair share of scenic beauty. It flows into the beautiful Little Langdale Tarn and Elter Water and cascades at Colwith Force and Skelwith Force, all the while surrounded by superb Lake District scenery. Interestingly, the river also forms the boundary between the historic counties of Lancashire and Westmorland.
