Fundraising climb for Szymon's volunteering trip to Zanzibar https://my.africanadventures.co.uk/fundraising/9242/1683/ We were planning to reach Helvellyn through Striding Edge, then follow Swirral Edge and go down on the other side. The weather had other ideas - heavy rain soaked us on initial approach - Szymon had water in his boots at this stage already. We waited for rain to stop and pressed on - clouds around us, wind and a very few glimpses os sun, but the clothes dried. Striding Edge had to be avoided - it was way too windy, but we managed to get almost all the way to the summit hiding from wind behind the ridge. We had to abandon 100m from the peak when reached steep rock climb - the wind and rain picked up again, temperature dropped. A quick lunch by the rock to warm up and we went down to the lake. The sun came up the moment we crossed the gate and stepped in a tarmac... Till next time.

We had to improvise a bit. Footpaths along the canals are not great for cycling. Still a great day and each day we were getting quicker!

Day 2 completed.
Starting with ice cream and a walk in Bury st. Edmunds then chasing Boudicca for the rest of the day.
We got wet feet when crossing the river (the bridge was 20m away!) but a great day overall.
Never seen so many hills in Norfolk.

A nice trip I've wanted to do for a few years - Harlow to river Thames following cycling route along rivers Stort and Lee that opened after the 2012 Olympics.
You can see quite a different side of London.
For some reason, maybe the distance to cover, Komoot says it's an expert ride, but it's actually

30km this time, a bit more challenging and with fully loaded bikes. Never cycled north of Harlow but liked it a lot. The smells are amazing this time of year- the route is though the rapeseed fields and bluebells forest.
At the end Szymon wanted to race, I wanted to sit down. One of us seems ready for

Blorenge is not rideable at this time of year - the path is completely overgrown. It's hard to see the path.
