The monument to the Lizard of Jaén is located in old Jaén, in the neighborhood of "La Magdalena" on Santo Domingo street. The Lizard is known as a serpent, great serpent or dragon, the Lizard of Malena (or of the Magdalena) or Lizard of Jaén. It is the most famous legend of the capital. In Jaén there is a saying: "I hope you burst like the Lizard of Jaén".
