The deposit that was located here was built by the City Council in 1547 and came to have three floors with ramps so that horses loaded with grain could go up and down. Although the building was demolished in 1921, its majestic portal, which bears the coat of arms of Carlos I, has been preserved and can be seen in the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts. In this square there is also the cross of the pósito (a small monument erected there since ancient times whose base probably comes from excavations in the Magdalena neighborhood) and the fountain also called del pósito, provided with two metal spouts with a lion's head that spill the water to a curved front pillar.
