The nature reserve is fenced off so that deer and sheep can't eat the rare plants that you find here. It's a good example of what would happen across the Highlands if deer numbers were reduced, and sheep kept off the land. The National Trust for Scotland manage the area. The nature reserve has a nice short circular walk that's great for families. Hikers walk through here on the way up Ben Lawers.

Nice protected area with National Trust car park. Small charge but worth it. There is a short way marked way that follows the burn.
